EU Data Act

The EU Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854) is a key European regulation governing access to and the use of data. The objective of the Regulation is to establish fair and transparent framework conditions for data sharing and to enable both individuals and businesses to access and use data generated by connected products, such as heat pumps.

As a manufacturer of connected heat pump systems, we implement solutions designed to comply with the requirements of the EU Data Act, thereby creating a reliable basis for data-driven services and further developments.

Your data, your rights

The EU Data Act strengthens users’ rights in relation to product-related data. In doing so, we are guided by the principles of transparency, fairness and user control. The Regulation ensures that generated data is made accessible under clearly defined conditions, while maintaining high standards of security and data protection.

Key aspects of the EU Data Act include:

  • User control and transparency: under certain circumstances, individuals and businesses have the right to access and manage the data generated through the use of their heat pump
  • Users can retrieve their data themselves or, upon request, have it transmitted to third parties designated by them
  • Data security and legal compliance: data sharing is carried out under strict technical and organisational measures and in accordance with applicable legal requirements

The specific scope and format of the data made available are determined by the legal requirements of the EU Data Act as well as by the technical characteristics of the respective product and the related services. In cases of exceptional need, for example in response to a public emergency or for the performance of a specific task carried out in the public interest, competent public sector bodies or Union institutions may request access to certain data. Such requests are reviewed and processed exclusively in accordance with the applicable legal provisions in order to ensure compliance and data security.
