Geothermal heat from groundwater
Groundwater is also amongst “geothermal heat sources”. The energy consumption of groundwater heat pumps is even lower than that of other heat pump systems. While the temperature of the anti-freeze agent in a deep drilling probe is around +5°C when it reaches the evaporator of the heat pump, the groundwater temperature is +10°C and in some areas it almost reaches even 20°C. This reduces the heat pump’s energy consumption and consequently boosts its efficiency.

The groundwater is taken from the supply well, guided through the safety heat exchanger and returned to the groundwater cycle through the draining well. The safety heat exchanger transfers the groundwater heat to a brine circuit that is integrated into the heat pump evaporator. This design prevents costly damage within the refrigeration circuit.
Like deep drilling, groundwater is also ideal for passive cooling.
